What is rosetta stone

Wixom Christian School is now contracted with Rosetta Stone for use of their full-service network-based language courses. Students will have their choice of 29 languages in which to receive instruction. All grading will be managed through Rosetta Stone and WCS. The student may log on and have fun during any free time. Access can be obtained through any computer at school providing students the opportunity to optimize the use of their time. Students will also have a designated time at school for language study.

Language costs

The cost is $200 per language per level (a student may take as little as a semester or as much as a year to complete). Most of the 29 languages have 2 levels. Some courses such as Spanish can have three or more.

Students may be enrolled in a course at any time. Demo CD's are available in the school office for temporary use.

Credited work

Students in the 9th - 12th grades will receive high school credit for their work (colleges are recommending 2 years of foreign language minimum).
