Visiting FBC

Making Disciples
At FBC, we band together to learn and to help others learn the true meaning of discipleship. Defined in our mission statement as someone who worships and serves Jesus Christ, a disciple must know the Lord in order to worship Him. While some people question whether it is possible to know God, we trust the Bible to teach us about God’s will and ultimate sacrifice for mankind.

On Why the Bible Was Written:
“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.”
(1 John 5:13)

On Knowing That God Loves You:
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
(John 3:16)

On Knowing That All People Are Sinners:
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
(Romans 3:23)

On Knowing That Jesus Christ Paid the Price Of Sin For Us:
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
(Romans 6:23)

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)

On Receiving Christ As Your Personal Savior:
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
 (Romans 10:13)

Maturing Disciples
In 2 Peter 3:18, we are told to “grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.” Subsequently, the ministries at First Baptist Church are dedicated to encouraging spiritual growth in believers of all life stages, from children to senior adults. Mobilizing Disciples
Jesus Christ commanded His disciples to “. . . Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15). First Baptist Church of Wixom strives to obey the Lord’s instruction through sharing the gospel with our community and by supporting missions near and far.

Community Outreach & Special Events
First Baptist Church provides many opportunities to spread the gospel through local outreach programs and special events. In addition to going out into the community, FBC also regularly hosts activities such as holiday services, revival meetings, Vacation Bible School, and youth rallies to bring in new visitors and share the good news of Jesus Christ. Training programs and team partnerships are always available for these initiatives, so members can participate in sharing the gospel regardless of their experience in ministering to others.

First Baptist Church supports a growing group of over 30 missionaries who serve in 18 foreign countries and across the United States. Click here to learn more about those missionaries and how they are focusing on local church ministries around the world.
